Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our physical therapy services and what to expect.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist?

In New York State, you can access physical therapy through direct access without a physician's referral for up to 10 visits or 30 days (whichever comes first). However, some insurance plans may require a referral for coverage. We recommend checking with your insurance provider, and our front desk team can assist you with verification.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, Oxford, Humana, and GHI/Emblem Health. If you don't see your insurance listed, please call us at (516) 341-2345 and we'll verify your coverage. We also offer competitive self-pay rates and payment plans.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, any physician referral or prescription (if applicable), recent imaging reports (X-rays, MRI, etc.), and a list of current medications. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. Arrive 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.

How long is a typical physical therapy session?

Your initial evaluation typically lasts 45-60 minutes and includes a comprehensive assessment using our AI-powered analysis tools. Follow-up treatment sessions are generally 30-45 minutes. Each session includes one-on-one time with your therapist, hands-on treatment, and guided exercises.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, severity, and treatment goals. During your initial evaluation, your therapist will provide an estimated treatment plan. Some conditions improve in 4-6 sessions, while more complex cases may require 8-12 weeks of care. Our AI tracking system helps us monitor your progress objectively and adjust your plan accordingly.

What is AI-enhanced physical therapy?

Our AI-enhanced approach uses advanced algorithms to analyze your movement patterns, track your progress with precise metrics, and help our therapists create more targeted treatment plans. This technology doesn't replace the human touch — it enhances it by providing data-driven insights that lead to faster, more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatment outcomes.

Do you treat work-related injuries?

Yes, we treat work-related injuries and accept Workers' Compensation cases. We can help with ergonomic assessments, work conditioning programs, and functional capacity evaluations. Our team will coordinate with your employer's insurance carrier to ensure seamless coverage of your treatment.

Can I do physical therapy after surgery?

Absolutely. Post-surgical rehabilitation is one of our specialties. We work closely with your surgeon to follow their post-operative protocol while optimizing your recovery timeline. Common surgeries we rehabilitate include ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, total joint replacement, and spinal procedures. Starting PT at the right time after surgery is crucial for the best outcomes.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the time slot to another patient in need. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.

Is parking available at your location?

Yes, our clinic at 38 S Station Plaza is conveniently located near the Great Neck LIRR station with nearby municipal parking available. There are also metered street parking spots in the area. Our location is easily accessible by both car and public transportation.
